How do I know if I need therapy?

Therapy can be beneficial if you are experiencing emotional distress, facing relationship difficulties, or seeking personal growth and self-awareness. You can derive benefits from therapy without requiring a particular diagnosis. Through a non-judgemental and nurturing environment, a stronger sense of self can emerge.

What is psychodynamic therapy?

Psychodynamic therapy is a form of talk therapy that focuses on exploring and understanding unconscious thoughts, emotions, and past experiences that may be influencing your current thoughts and behaviors. It often examines the dynamics of relationships and their impact on your mental well-being.

Do you offer couples therapy?

Yes, I provide couples therapy. These sessions typically range from 50 minutes to 2 hours to ensure we have sufficient time for productive communication and exploration. I am a PACT level 1 certified couples therapist and enjoy helping couples create a more secure functioning relationship.

What should I do if I have an emergency?

In the event of a mental health crisis or an emergency, I urge you to dial 911 or immediately seek assistance at the nearest emergency room. You can also call the National Mental Health crisis line at 988.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes, therapy is highly confidential. I am bound by ethical and legal obligations to protect your privacy. There are limited exceptions to confidentiality, which will be explained to you during our initial session.

How much does therapy cost?

For individual sessions, the fee is $160 for a 50-minute session, and for couples, sessions range from 50 minutes to 2 hours at $195+ depending on session lenghth. Couples sessions are booked weekly or bi-monthly depending on need. I can receive payment in cash, by check, via credit card, or through Health Savings Plans.

Do you take insurance?

I do not accept insurance directly. However, I can provide you with a super-bill, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, depending on your policy. You must confirm prior to sessions starting. 

How do I schedule a therapy session?

To schedule a therapy session, please use the “schedule a call” button and we will have a conversation to see if we would be a good fit.

How often should I go to therapy?

The frequency of therapy sessions varies depending on your specific needs and goals. Most clients start out at once a week but can also increase frequency to two times per week. We will work together to determine the best time during our initial consultation.

Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes, while couples therapy sessions can vary between 50 minutes to 2 hours, depending on your needs. 

What will we talk about in a session?

In our sessions, we will delve into your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, with a particular focus on uncovering underlying patterns that have gotten in the way of your relationships in your life. We will meet each session with curiosity and compassion for what comes to the surface. With me by your side, you will begin to relate to yourself and others in new ways.
